Privacy Policy
The short version: we collect as little as possible, we don't use tracking cookies, and we never sell your data.
Last updated: 17 October 2026
1. Who is responsible
Wardrobe Compass (wardrobecompass.com) is run by Basile, based in Belgium. Basile is the data controller for this website within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You can contact us about anything in this policy at [email protected].
2. What we collect and why
| Situation | Data | Purpose and legal basis | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| You visit the site | Technical data such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, processed by our hosting provider in server logs | Delivering the website and keeping it secure. Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) | Short periods set by the hosting provider |
| You email us | Your email address, name (if given) and your message | Answering you. Legitimate interest, or steps at your request (Art. 6(1)(b)/(f)) | As long as needed to handle your message, and no longer than 2 years |
| You use Outfit Formula | The photo you choose (resized on your device to max. 1024 pixels before upload) and your styling choice (womenswear, menswear or unisex) | Analysing the item and generating outfit suggestions you asked for. Steps at your request / legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(b)/(f)) | Not stored: processed in memory for the few seconds it takes, then discarded |
| You join the newsletter (once it launches) | Your email address and the date and proof of your consent | Sending the newsletter. Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email | Until you unsubscribe |
The newsletter is not live yet. At the moment, the sign-up form on this site does not send your email address anywhere. When we launch it, we will use a double opt-in (you confirm by email) and update this policy with the name of the email service provider we use.
2a. Outfit Formula photos
When you use Outfit Formula, your photo is first resized and compressed in your own browser. It is then sent once, over an encrypted connection, to our server function on Cloudflare, which passes it to Cloudflare Workers AI (an AI model hosted by Cloudflare) to describe the item, for example "cream wool cable-knit sweater". That description is used to generate outfit ideas. We do not store, log or share your photo or the results, and we don't use them to train AI models; Cloudflare states that it does not use customer content sent to Workers AI to train its models. Please upload photos of clothing only, and avoid photos that show your face or other people. The page doesn't need an account and sets no cookies.
3. Cookies and tracking
This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies and does not use tracking analytics. Our fonts are hosted on our own site, so loading a page doesn't send your data to a font service. If we add privacy-friendly, cookieless visitor statistics in the future, we will describe them here first.
4. Who processes data for us
We use a small number of service providers ("processors") who handle data only on our instructions:
- Website hosting and content delivery (Cloudflare), which processes technical request data to deliver and protect the site.
- AI processing for Outfit Formula (Cloudflare Workers AI), which analyses uploaded photos in memory to generate suggestions, without storing them.
- Email, to receive and answer your messages.
- Newsletter service (once launched), to store subscriber addresses and send emails.
Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under the GDPR, such as an EU adequacy decision (for example the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
We never sell your personal data.
5. Links to other websites
Our articles link to other websites, including the sources we cite. In the future, some links may be affiliate links (see our affiliate disclosure). When you click a link and visit another site, that site's own privacy policy and cookies apply. They may use cookies to record that you came from Wardrobe Compass.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have incorrect data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- restrict or object to how we process it;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing that happened before.
To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will reply within one month.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. In Belgium, this is the Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données): www.dataprotectionauthority.be.
7. Children
Wardrobe Compass is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
8. Changes
We may update this policy, for example when the newsletter launches. The Outfit Formula section was added on 17 October 2026. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
