Advertiser terms
Plain-language terms for sponsored matches.
Last updated: 18 October 2026
1. Who we are
Wardrobe Compass is run by BDB BV, Markt 52, 9900 Eeklo, Belgium, VAT BE 0670.855.463 ("we"). These terms apply to businesses ("you") that advertise products in Outfit Formula ("sponsored matches"). They are business-to-business terms: you confirm you act for a business with a valid EU VAT number.
2. Review and approval
We review every shop and product before it goes live, and may refuse or remove any shop or product, for example for unclear pricing, counterfeit or unsafe goods, misleading photos, broken links, no shipping to Belgium/EU or a poor fit with our editorial style. Approval is not a recommendation of your shop.
3. How placement works
- A sponsored product is only shown when it passes the same match criteria as organic suggestions (category, colour compatibility, style/occasion and the shopper's styling choice). Payment never overrides fit.
- At most one sponsored option per category carousel and at most 1 in 4 options overall; never in first position.
- Every sponsored option is labelled "Sponsored · by [your shop name]" with a "Why am I seeing this?" note, as required by EU consumer law and the Digital Services Act.
- We use no personal profiling of shoppers for ads. We don't guarantee a number of views or clicks.
4. Plans, pay-per-click and payment
- Monthly plans: Starter €19, Boutique €49, Brand €99 per month, excl. VAT; yearly billing = 10 months' price. Plans renew automatically until cancelled; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period.
- Founding offer (the first 20 shops to apply, or until Sunday 25 October, 23:59 Brussels time, whichever comes first; after that, new shops pay regular prices): first month free, then 30% off the plan price for as long as the subscription continues without interruption. Founding partners keep this founding price when our regular prices go up.
- Your founding place is fixed when you apply, not when we approve you or when you pay. If you apply before the deadline as one of the first 20 shops (rejected applications don't count), you keep the founding price even if we approve your shop after the deadline: you can then start your plan or first top-up at the founding price until the deadline or until 14 days after our approval, whichever is later. After that window, regular prices apply.
- Founding pay per click (first 20 shops, same founding place and payment window as above): €0,15 per counted click instead of €0,25 for the first 3 months after your first paid top-up, then the regular price per click.
- Pay-per-click: €0,25 excl. VAT per counted click, from prepaid credit (minimum top-up €25), optional daily cap. Credit is valid 12 months from the top-up. A counted click is the first click per shopper, product and day, after filtering bots and prefetches. You can dispute clicks within 7 days; invalid clicks are credited back.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. All prices are excl. VAT; 21% Belgian VAT is added unless reverse charge applies. Reverse charge (0% VAT, "VAT reverse charged – Article 196 Directive 2006/112/EC") applies to businesses established in another EU member state whose VAT number is valid in VIES at checkout; you are then responsible for accounting for the VAT in your own country. Businesses in Belgium, and businesses whose VAT number cannot be validated, are charged 21% Belgian VAT. Each payment comes with an invoice showing our VAT number and yours.
5. Your content
You confirm that you have the right to use the photos, names and texts you upload, that prices and links are accurate, and that the products comply with EU product safety and consumer law. You give us a non-exclusive licence to show this content in Outfit Formula and your dashboard during the campaign.
5a. Your product photos in AI images of Elise (optional)
This clause only applies if you tick “Use my product photos for AI images of Elise” at sign-up or in your dashboard. It is optional, free and not needed to advertise. If you don't tick it, nothing changes: in AI images your product is only described in words, never made from your photo.
What you allow
- We may use the product photos you upload to create AI images of Elise, our AI-generated character (not a real person), wearing or holding your product in the outfit a shopper picked (“See it on Elise”). For this we may resize, crop and combine your photo with other pictures, and have an AI model make a new image from it.
- This permission is free, non-exclusive and valid worldwide (the site is online), but only for this feature and only while your shop is live with an active plan or prepaid credit and this option is on. It ends automatically when you switch it off or our agreement ends.
- Shoppers may save and share the images they made for personal, non-commercial use, with the AI label kept on (our user terms say so). We don't sell the images, and we won't use them in our own advertising or social media without your prior written agreement.
- You keep all rights in your photos, products and brand. We get no other rights than those described here.
How it works
- An image is only made when a shopper picks your product and taps “See it on Elise”. Your photo is then sent once to our AI provider, Cloudflare Workers AI, to make that one image. We don't use your photo or the images to train AI models, and Cloudflare states that it doesn't either. We don't store the generated image: it is only shown to the shopper.
- Every image has a visible “AI visualisation · pieces may differ” label and an invisible, machine-readable AI marking, in line with the EU AI Act transparency rules. Next to the image we say that it includes sponsored pieces, and your product keeps its “Sponsored · by [your shop name]” label and its normal link to your shop.
- AI images can differ from the real product (colour, shape, fit, details). We present them as illustrations, not as photos of your product, and you are not bound by what an image shows. We are responsible for how we make and label the images.
What you confirm
- You have all the rights needed for this use, also from the photographer and, where relevant, the brand or other rights holder: in particular permission for edited and AI-made versions of the photos, and that the photographer does not object to these changes.
- While this option is on, your product photos show no recognisable person (no face) and no one under 18: for example a flat lay, mannequin or packshot, or a cropped photo. If any part of another person is still visible, that person agreed to this use and you told them about it.
- We may check photos. If a photo doesn't meet these rules, or someone makes a credible complaint, we may stop using it for AI images, ask you to replace it, or switch this option off.
- If someone (for example a photographer, a brand or a person in a photo) makes a claim against us because one of these confirmations was not true, you cover our reasonable costs and damages from that claim. We will tell you about the claim promptly, stop using the photo, let you take part in the defence and not settle in your name without your agreement.
Switching off and complaints
- You can switch this off at any time in your dashboard, free of charge. It works immediately for new images. Images that shoppers already made and saved can't be recalled, but we don't keep copies.
- To stop the use of one photo only, remove or replace that product in your dashboard, or email [email protected].
- Anyone who thinks an image or the use of a photo infringes their rights can email [email protected]. We stop using that photo for new images while we look into it.
6. Data and reporting
We report views (a sponsored card at least half on screen) and counted clicks per product and day. We don't share shoppers' personal data with you. Outbound links carry UTM tags so you can see the traffic in your own analytics.
7. Liability, ending, law
We provide the service with care but without guaranteed availability or results. Our liability is limited to the fees you paid in the last 3 months, except for intent or gross negligence. Either party can end the agreement at any time; unused prepaid credit is refunded on request when we end it without cause. Belgian law applies; courts of Ghent (Ghent division).
